India is my country and indians are my brother and sister!

India..26th Jan 2011 00:00

Tell me Guys which type of Indian you are?
If you didn’t understand what I am asking it’s good for all of us and if you have an answer please let me know. The other day I went to a parlour and I ended up realizing a very strange feeling. The beautician thought me as a Chinese Indian.
She told me ‘Madam all the big parlours and saloons hire girls from you place or north Indian girls, they don’t hire Indian girls. It was first time in my life my fellow countrymen oops! countrywomen was considering me as Chinese Indian and herself as Indian.BTW she was a domicile of state of Karnataka.
Strangely in Mumbai also, there were many types of Indians - south Indians, north Indians, Guju Indians, Bhaiya Indian and the locals who were the Indians there.
When I was a child in Arunachal Pradesh, there also locals use to consider themselves as Indians and rest as Bihari Indians, Madrasi or South Indians, Punjabi Indians, tribal and non-tribal Indians.
Later when I was in Kharagpur, west Bengal there were also two types of Indian – Bengali Indians and non-Bengali Indians.
Recently when I moved to Bangalore, I got a new apartment near a school. Every morning I hear kids taking Indian pledge which we use to take in school ‘I am an Indian , India is my country , All Indians are my Brother and Sister’. In school I use to feels these lines very funny.  I never took a pledge that Gayatri di and Muli are my sisters. Do anyone of you?
But with so many different types of Indians in one India, now I can make out why in schools we were asked every morning to take this pledge. But one thing which liked everywhere was that people considering themselves as Indian irrespective of considering others as whatever Indian and I think it’s the beauty of India and Indians.
India is like a garden with different flowers everywhere and it’s the different colours that make this garden most beautiful and evergreen. Irrespective of our types the soul is that we are INDIANS and we will work to make INDIA different from all the other Types..
Cheers to Republic of India and Indians...

koshish karne walon ki haar nahin hoti

This is for all the people who dare to dream and dare to make their dream a success..
 Harivansh Rai Banchan' s Poem

Lehron se Darkar nauka par nahin hoti,
koshish karne walon ki haar nahin hoti

Nanhi cheenti jab daana lekar chalti hai,
chadhti deewaron par, sau bar phisalti hai.
Man ka vishwas ragon mein saahas bharta hai,
chadhkar girna, girkar chadhna na akharta hai.
Akhir uski mehnat bekar nahin hoti,
koshish karne walon ki haar nahin hoti.

Dubkiyan sindhu mein gotakhor lagata hai,
ja ja kar khali haath lautkar aata hai
Milte nahi sahaj hi moti gehre paani mein,
badhta dugna utsah isi hairani mein.
Muthi uski khali har bar nahin hoti,
koshish karne walon ki haar nahi hoti.

Asaflta ek chunauti hai, ise sweekar karo,
kya kami reh gayi, dekho aur sudhar karo.
Jab tak na safal ho, neend chain ko tyago tum,
Sangharsh ka maidan chhodkar mat bhago tum.
Kuch kiye bina hi jai jaikar nahin hoti,
koshish karne walon ki haar nahin hoti

Strange Lines Funny Lingo

In daily life we come across so many funny lines and strange lingos. Sometimes it has great impact on your mind and pura "chemical locha ho jata hai". I am putting some which I could recollect and will keep on adding
The first lines were told my one of my classmate in class VI and had a great impact on my life and I think this is the best line I ever heard (even better than Hollywood movies). It also shaped me as a person I am today and how I perceive others.
Iri Dorji: “This pen is so beautiful but without ink it is good for nothing” pointing his new made in china ink pen. Oh BTW he was referring to his Ex-Girl friend
Kaveri:  “We don’t have to be so Sad as Principal Sir is not going to heaven; he is just transferred to new school” class 6th during principal’s farewell function. Principal Sir almost got heart attacked and was about to go to heaven
Keya: “Yaar! Yeh Lau Kitna Kaamur de raha hai”; OK It simply means that idiot is irritating so much.BTW referring to Some GL (Guest Lecturer ) in some class. Most recently gotta know thats Kaamur dena is equivalent to zeher and Kaamur is know as Zeheri, Nagraj..blah blah.
Vika:  “ Ish Umar aur Time me Hum Sab log tumko khalnayak lage” warning Mita not talk to a Guy whom We didn’t like but Mita had a serious crush on him in College
My line : “You are not mature enough to understand my maturity” I said to Anu when she thought that I was being very immature and now she uses the same lines when having a verbal war with her husband :P
Dinu: “I know Aaj, I know Kal but what is this Aaj Kal “ When we forcefully took him for ‘Love Aaj Kal ‘. Oh BTW Dinu is still trying hard to learn Hindi but I know its a Life-long process for him J
Mrits: “ Bhabhiji ka call hai aapki Beti roo Rahi hai”  To Vijay when he was trying to impress new Joined IBM colleague Subho  in project.  Subho ‘ Vijay You are married and have a kid too . It was a great stress buster in the crucial project release.
My and Rashmi’s  Favourite ‘Oh My God Hogaya’  when things just go 180 degrees  the way we planned.
Vinita’s hyderbadi Estyle baata like “Maloom kya, Bhaijaan kya bolti, bhai bol neka Ya Jaan Bol neka! ”
Gunjan :  ‘Dil Gawahi nahi deta’  whenever she had to say no in a very polite manner. Once her heart will not give Gawahi  not even God can convinced  her

Muls : ‘ Tema Garam’ means very very angry (BTW Tema means container in Assamese, its simile for Head’)

Jaldi Karo............

Today morning again I got to hear the same lines from Mom which I heard so many times from her, aunts, uncles, my teachers and my Friends.  And I thought of writing this. The Lines are ‘why you are always in Hurry,Sab Kam jaldi jaldi kyu?  Be slow , sab aaram se karo .blah blah ............! Slow and Steady wins the race”.
I was thinking very hard ‘How to become slow and steady?’ Anyone have the formula to become ‘slow and steady’.
Even when I look back to my life I start believing that God has programmed my life and me like that. I was born 2 month prior to my actual estimated time of birth when I was seven months old I never asked god why were you in hurry?
Started going to school with mom even before I could speak properly, but never ask mom why you were in hurry?
My teachers increase my date of birth further by couple of months so that I was eligible for my 10th exams. I never asked my teachers why you were in hurry. I could have waited one more year.

Just want to say that it’s you guys who have programmed me like that and now you are asking ‘why in hurry?’
Moreover ‘Slow and Steady wins  Funda holds no longer.
Jaldi Karo , Jaldi Shiko, jaldi  Samjho.. world ke bahoot problems solve Jaldi Hogi  :p

3 core values of ur Life !

Yesterday I went for some training, the facilitator was great guy not because he wrapped up the session 3 hrs early but he made me think certain things which I don’t in my daily life.
He asked us to note down three most important core values in our life and order them in a scale of 1 to 3 with 1 being the most important. When all of us finished he asked us to strike out the 3rd point and believe me no body in the room could do that. He smiled and said ‘Guys you can change /remove the last in your list, then how can you expect a 100 yrs old company to change its core value’.
I was like “wow what an idea sirji, to nicely impose company’s value on its employees”.
Later in the day I discuss my core values with one of my friend and decided to put it down somewhere to check whether it remains the same after some years. Here it goes the three most important value in my life are:-
1)     Respect: mutual respect is the most important value for me. Respecting very little living and non-living object. Everything and everyone has its own charm and beauty and we should appreciate that and respect that. Someone as put it so correctly to get respect you need to respect. This is one thing my parents taught me and this is what I want to give my children.

2)    Freedom: Freedom to think, freedom in our action, Freedom to laugh, freedom to cry. I am like a free bird and it doesn’t mean that a free bird does not have any responsibilities. It has its own set of duties and responsibilities. Well my set of freedom should not impact anyone else’s  freedom  J
3)    Honesty: Honesty is very important for me, honesty in my action, honest to myself, honest to others.

Well guys that doesn’t mean that I want to be some kinda Mahatma. I want my life to be such that if someday my kids ask me about it, I should not hide anything from them. I have a very simple thumb rule  before doing anything I ask myself ‘if someone ask me about it do I have the guts to tell everything without manipulations, If ‘YES’ go for it,  if ‘NO’ then hey! Stop you fool! .

I strongly believe in what one Mr Howard Fries (a Highway consultant) told once in traffic planning class “KISS principle”. It means keep it Simple Straight.

Guys let me know you values I would love to read them and will definitely learn from them.

P.s: The pic used in the top right hand side was what I was doing during the training session in my mobile .. :)
